MEAC: Cat for adoption
MEAC - Cats for adoption
"Hal"

Hal is a young adult cat. He was found with porcupine quills in his neck and was very thin. Under the care of MEAC, he was treated for an infection from the quills and brought back to health. He's a very personable cat who loves attention and loves to eat! He will be ready for adoption soon and hopes to find a loving, forever home.
.
"London" & "Montana"

London & Montana are spunky kittens who love to play. They were found on the highway and brought to us with eye infections. They received medical care and are healthy and ready to find a home.  Could one (or both) these adorable kittens find their forever home with you?

"Pussy cat"

Pussy cat is a very sweet, handsome orange and white tabby who came to us when his owner was put in a very unfortunate situation and sadly was no longer able to care for him. He loves cuddles and has a lot of love to give to his forever home.
.
"Jamie"

Jamie is an affectionate young male adult. Jamie was brought to us by a concerned resident after he saw Jamie hit by a car and left to fend for himself. Jamie had to have surgery but now is ready to find a place he can call his forever home.

"Ike"

Ike came to us a very scared feral cat whose legs were abscessed from his days as a tough street cat. After some antibiotics and pain management, Ike's legs healed and he grew to like us and show us some affection. Ike is happy to have his days of being a stray behind him and would love to be someone's best friend!

HAPPY ENDINGS:

Frankie has been adopted!
Frankie was presented to MEAC after being found abandoned on a road. He was completely bald but otherwise healthy and happy. The veterinarians at the Minden Animal Hospital knew the cause of his hair loss was likely a tumor in his adrenal gland. An ultrasound of his belly was done to confirm that. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor and recovered slowly but well. He gained strength daily. He is now recovered and is even growing his hair back! Frankie has been adopted and is enjoying his new home.

Good news! Simba, Stingray and Lily have been adopted! So have Snap, Crackle and Pop. Days old, cold and hungry, these three orphaned kittens were placed into the loving hands of MEAC veterinary staff. Each night they were taken home by one of our caring members to be hand fed, toileted and tucked into a warm, cozy bed. Closely monitored, they were finally healthy, eating solid food and ready to greet the world.

Immaculee was found fending for herself in a driveway culvert. She was quite timid, but desperately wanted attention and affection. She had an injury to her hind leg and was little more than skin and bones. She was brought to MEAC for the staff at the Minden Animal Hospital to assess. Immaculee had to lose the injured leg as it was beyond repair, but when she gets running around and playing you'd never know it. This little girl zips around on her three good legs and is now living the life that a creature of her unbreakable spirit deserves. She quickly stole the hearts of everyone at MEAC and was adopted as soon as she was back on her feet.

Tommy the turtle was brought to Minden Emergency Animal Care by a concerned citizen who could see that he had suffered some sort of trauma to his head. Both of his eyes were swollen and he could not see, and would not be able to survive in the wild. He also had a broken jaw. Tommy was cared for by the staff at the Minden Animal Hospital. A few weeks of care and feeding with grass, fish food and whatever insects we could catch, and Tommy was on the mend. He regained vision in one of his eyes and was transferred to the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre in Peterborough. He will eventually be re-introduced into his natural environment to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine again.

Braydee is an affectionate, healthy young dog that was found wandering along a highway near Brady Lake. Nobody came forward to claim her. The good news is that she will not die on the side of the road, the victim of a vehicle accident. Braydee has been adopted by a loving family.
